Funny How a Melody Sounds Like a Memory

It's been awhile since I have posted, but I had so much fun doing this layout! It was way out of my comfort zone because it has a little bit of everything on it. Lots of mist and stamping on this one. I embossed the middle of the page with musical notes. I tried to color it with mist and ink, but I didn't like it. I completely did the middle part of the page over, and thought it looked better without any color. I cut the musical notes, with my Cameo, from white cardstock. I then outlined them with a black colored pencil. The layout was inspired by Celine Navarro in her 213 in 2013 video on TwoPeas. The title is from a favorite song by Eric Church. I thought it fit perfectly with my daughter twirling, as the Pride of the Southland plays such familiar songs such as "Rocky Top".
Thanks for looking! Laura

Move-In Day Layout

Before I start getting behind with my blog, I wanted to post another layout.  This layout is my daughter and her friends that moved into an apartment this  past June.  I used Amy Tangerine's "Ready Set Go" collection. I thought the houses on the background paper were the same shape of the apartments.  I cut the tags and tabs, with my silhouette, from the 6x6 paper pad from the collection.  I also used Studio Calico wood veneers.  My journaling will eventually go on the left hand side of the layout.  Thanks for looking!

Rainy Day Layout

Good Morning!  Today I want to share another layout from my DD's 2012 band season.  Each home gameday, the Pride marches to the stadium and when they get almost to the stadium they stop and play what is called "Salute to the Hill".  Due to construction this year, their performance was moved one street over.  The pictures in today's layout are from the first "Salute to the Hill" of the season and it was  pouring the rain.  My DD said that it was hard for her to look up after she tossed her baton because it felt like her contacts would wash out.  As usual the band performed well and the majorettes made it look so easy!

The layout was inspired by Amy Heller. I like the way the back and white background paper matches the drums.
Thanks for looking!

Hello Again My Blog!

I know it has been awhile, but I have a layout to share that I just finished.  This picture is of Megan standing next to "The Rock" at UT.  Back on September 15th ESPN College Gameday came to town when UT played Florida.  Someone painted the ESPN crew spelling out V O L S on the rock.  We didn't have many pictures taken at the rock this season, but I was happy I was able to capture this special one.

The title came from the T-shirts that were made for the fans that said "ESPN College Gameday Live from Knoxville".  Megan didn't get to go to the actual show so that's why I put "not so live at the rock". The actual show took place down the street. This layout will hopefully help us remember that all though there wasn't a lot, there were some good times and excitement in this 2012 football season.

Supplies:
Tan background pp and tag from Ready Set Go collection
Grey diagonal stripes pp from EP
White hexagon pp from Studio Calico
Woodgrain chevon pp from Everyday Eleclectic collection
SC Date Stamp
Heidi Swapp banner
Stickers from AC Thickers,TH,Simple Stories SNAP and OA Mini Market

As promised yesterday, here are a few pictures from the football game Friday night at the Georgia Dome when the  Tennessee Vols played NC State Wolfpack.  Of course there are a lot of photos of the Pride of the Southland Band as well.  I'll be back soon with a new layout...I promise!

Labor Day Weekend

Happy Labor Day!
Where in the world did the month of August go?  Starting back to work (I work in a school) has really hurt my blog.  Anyway, this weekend was great!  We went down to Atlanta to watch the Vols play NC State in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game at the Georgia Dome.  First, I have some pictures to share that I took at the Pep Rally on Friday afternoon.

The stage.

The beautiful and talented majorettes arrive at the Pep Rally.

The real Smokey.

This Smokey was the Devil Mascot at my daughter's high school.
How cool is that?

The Big and Mighty Vols!

Well that's it for the Pep Rally.  I will be back tomorrow with pictures from the game.  Well maybe the pictures will be more from Pre-game and Halftime...we'll see!

Spring Break!

I took a break from my daughter's twirling albums and did a beach page. I used the new Echo Park collection called Everyday Eclectic and used one of my favorite photos I took of my DD and her boyfriend.  I've had two very stressful days at work and it has been a relief to come home, turn on the Olympics and work on this page.  I have another beach layout in mind for the end of the week.
